An Opportunity for a Piece of Steady Eddie’s Legacy

In almost 10 years running metsilverman.com, I have been loathe to put any commercial, outside, or autographed products on this site. But I never got a call like I got this week. Martin Gover, who represents many former ballplayers in their life after the game, reached out to me about a Met having health problems. And not just any Met, but the longest tenured Met ever: Ed Kranepool.

The reason he is selling his personal memorabilia is because he is ill. He needs the money for treatment. He has sold many of the “higher shelf” memorabilia already, but I have been told these remaining items are more accessible (read “affordable”). I plan to visit and make a purchase myself, mainly because of the heartfelt pitch by Marty Gover. Steady Eddie was a Met I knew from my first days as a Mets fan in the mid-1970s. And he provided a sensational interview for Swinging ’73, where he was as candid—and as annoyed about how the 1973 World Series ended—as if it happened last week. Always speaking his mind, the Krane.

Not just thinking and praying, but trying to do something to help. Below if the information about how you can take part:

Mr. Kranepool and his representatives asked us to reach out to you privately. As a top Mets Memorabilia Collector, Mr. Kranepool through invitation only is offering a limited number of collectors the opportunity to visit him at his home on Long Island, to examine and purchase unique Mets and Yankees Memorabilia directly from him. This oppoortunity to visit Mr. Kranepool at his home will be during the months of November and December, and will take place in the evenings between 6 PM-10 PM on Monday-Thursday.‎

This is a great opportunity for the true Baseball Autograph Memorabilia Collector to set-up an appointment to visit Mr. Kranepool at his home and examine the memorabilia he has collected since he broke into the Major Leagues with the Mets in 1962. If you are interested, please contact Martin Gover of Momentum Sports Management, Inc. at (212) 918-4545. Thank you for your attention regarding this matter.
